Veterinary science mobilises science with the help of the EU

Edited by

Modern veterinary science is a dynamic sector facing a number of challenges and difficulties but all indications are that the future looks bright.

Vet Antonis Demetriou, who carries out checks on poultry farms and with public health issues relating to veterinary science, says significant steps have been taken in the past few years to introduce modern technology in poultry farm checks

New methods and automated systems are used which help closely monitor the lives of chickens so as to prevent disease. Such technology can be used not only for birds but other types of animals.

The input of the European Union, which finances ‘smart software’ helps to make this possible.

The more general contribution of the EU to livestock breeding is significant since it creates a new way of approaching veterinary science with the help of technology.
