Pupils at Vergina High School in Larnaca on Wednesday staged an hour’s protest against the lack of proper heating in classrooms.

The one-hour abstention from class took place between 9:00 and 10:00 in the morning and was preceded by an extraordinary meeting of the parents’ association, according to Cyprus News Agency.

On behalf of the parents association, Costas Costa told CNA that the heating and other operational problems have been pending for a long time.

He added that school authorities have dragged their feet, failing to take prompt action at the expense of the health and safety of the pupils.
