Cypriot MPs Irene Charalambidou and Kyriakos Hadjiyiannis leave for Turkey on Thursday to join an observation team of the parliamentary assembly of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe who will monitor the parliamentary elections there on June 24.
More than 65 MPs from 25 OSCE member countries will make up the team. They will meet representatives of political parties
and of Turkey’s election service and be briefed by the Office for the Democratic Institutions and Human Rights on its findings. Meetings are also planned with the media and civil society,
On the day of the elections, the Cypriot MPs will be in Istanbul where they will visit polling stations.
