Turkish-occupied north murder suspect remanded

A Turkish Cypriot judge ordered the remand for eight days, of the man suspected to have killed his ex-girlfriend, 45-year-old Gulbahar Ulutan, by brutally stabbing her to death last Wednesday in Kionelli.

Two other men, accused of helping him escape were released on bail.

According to Turkish Cypriot media, the man was arrested on Friday in a nearby village, following the release of his photo by authorities and was placed in custody for three days.

Two other men, aged 35 and 39, who allegedly assisted the suspect escape, were arrested on Sunday, November 4.

The suspected murderer, confessed to committing the crime, saying that he killed Ulutan because she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him.
