An earthquake of a magnitude of 3.1 was felt in the Limassol area in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
The Cyprus Geological Survey Department said that a light tremor was recorded at 1.53 am. The epicentre was at a depth of 3 km northeast of Limassol at a depth of 2 km. The earthquake was felt in the wider area of Limassol. The department said the situation is being monitored.

This was the third tremor to be felt in Limassol in the past few days after two that were recorded at 3.30 am and 3.35 am in the early hours of Sunday morning, the first of a magnitude 3.6 and the second of a magnitude of 3.1.
Their epicentre was at a depth of 3 km.
