Trachanas cooked with tomatoes, a dish that is perfect for cold winter days.
650 ml trahana
2 large ripe tomatoes, grated
3-4 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp sugar
1 stock cube, chicken or beef
5-6 tbsp oil
3-4 cups water
In a pot, bring the water, the tomatoes, tomato paste, stock cube, sugar, and the salt and pepper, to boil.
Allow the contents of the pot to boil for a few minutes, then add the oil and the trahana.
Stir well and allow to simmer.
Allow to simmer for approximately 1 hour.
Remember to stir often and if necessary add more water.
