Paphos dog owner arrested on animal welfare charges

Police have arrested a 39 year old man from a village in the Paphos district for keeping two dogs in unsuitable conditions, the Cyprus News Agency has reported.

It said that the man faces charges relating to the law on animal welfare.

According to the news agency the man had two dogs in a cage without food and water.

The dogs have been taken into the care of the Association for the Protection of Animals.

The owner was arrested and placed in custody.
