Paphos: Couple arrested for shoplifting

A couple were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Paphos, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

It said the 34 year old man and 31 year old woman, both Georgian nationals who had their four year old child with them, were stopped by a security guard at a department store.

In their possession, they had clothes believed to have been stolen from two different shops.

Police were called in and they were arrested.

Examinations indicate they had removed the safety tag from the clothes.

The child was handed over to relatives, in consultation with the Social Services.
