Nicosia Municipality takes part in Urban Waste’s final Conference

Nicosia Municipality has participated in the final conference of the Urban Waste project in Brussels.

During the final conference, according to a press release issued by the Municipality, the participants shared experiences reviewing the previous three years of the project. Nicosia, Cyprus` capital, is one of the project’s 11 pilot cities and regions. The project has also 27 partners which come together sharing experiences on management of urban waste. Among the partners from 12 different European countries are Universities and huge organizations which deal with waste management.

During the Conference, the attendees had the opportunity to exchange views on policy making and they shared the key results and findings for their cities and regions as well as ideas for the future challenges on sustainable growth.

Nicosia Municipality was represented by Councilors katia Agrotou, George Panayiotou and Loukas Papayiannis.

The Project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
