UN Secretary General`s personal envoy for Cyprus Jane Holl Lute will visit Cyprus on October 31, a UN source has told CNA, invited to comment on a press report by the Turkish Cypriot “news agency”.

The same source noted that Lute will hold meetings with the leaders, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, “next Wednesday”, which is the day of her arrival to the island.

UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, said in his latest report on his good offices mission that he would instruct senior UN official, Jane Joll Lute to continue discussions to gauge the true extent of convergence on key issues and the willingness of the sides to incorporate novel proposals as part of an overall solution toward a common future that they themselves can envisage.

Deputy Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus,  Elizabeth Spehar, will host a meeting of the Greek Cypriot leader,  Nicos Anastasiades, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akıncı, at the Chief of Mission Residence in the United Nations Protected Area on 26 October at 10:00.
