Larnaca police on Friday night stopped a man from Frenaros for speeding only to find that he was also driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and did not have car insurance.
The man was stopped on Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue in Larnaca at 11.30 pm when he was doing 79 km per hour in a 50 km per hour zone.
He also tested positive for alcohol with a reading of 32 mg compared to the 9 mg legal limit. Police also asked for a saliva test for a drug test which he also tested positive.
Both the driver and the co-driver who had allowed him to drive the car without insurance were charged in writing and will appear in court at a later date.
