Makarios Hospital fined for losing patient’s file

Nicosia’s Makarios Hospital has been fined €5,000 for losing a patient’s file, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection announced.

According to an announcement published on the Commissioner’s website, the patient filed a complaint against the hospital, claiming that the hospital refused her access to her personal file, as they could not locate it.

After investigating the case, the Commissioner’s office handed the €5,000 fine to the hospital.
