A Paphos woman who was scheduled to check into the clinic to give birth on Monday was arrested on Sunday night on drug possession.
Acting on a tip, the drug squad caught the woman picking up a small bag from underneath a rock that had been left in a public space in Paphos. The bag contained 22 grams of cannabis, while after a search in the area police also found 7 grams of cocaine and seven ecstasy pills.
The 30 year old was known to police for similar offences. She was taken to Paphos police station where she was charged in writing. She was not detained but taken to the clinic where she is scheduled to give birth today.
