First batch of pharmaceuticals from Cyprus delivered to Greece

The first batch of pharmaceuticals sent from Cyprus to Greece for the victims of the devastating fires were delivered to the Cypriot delegation there a little after midnight, Reaction Cyprus said on twitter on Wednesday.

The pharmaceuticals were collected by private organisations, while medical equipment was purchased by the Bank of Cyprus. A second batch of pharmaceuticals is due to be sent on Wednesday, it added.

Meanwhile campaigns to raise basic goods and money for those afflicted by the deadly fires are underway in Cyprus, coordinated by the office of the Volunteer Commissioner.

Appeals have gone out for dry food, personal hygiene items, baby food and diapers among other.
