A 36 year old man was jailed for one month and had his licence suspended for six months by Paphos district court on Monday for reckless driving.

The man was stopped by police in Paphos on July 4. He tried to evade the police check, sped off, driving recklessly in an attempt to get away.

When he was finally stopped he was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol (113 mg — five times the legal limit of 22 mg), did not have a driver’s licence, his car had no insurance or MOT and its road tax had expired.
