Limassol dog owners will on Sunday stage a protest at the Molos part of the Limassol promenade to show their opposition to a decision by Limassol Municipality banning their four-legged friends.
The protest is being organised by the Limassol Dog Owners group and Animal Party Cyprus at 6.30 pm on Sunday. They will meet at the amphitheatre and march to the old port, with their dogs.
Organisers are calling on all participants to have the necessary refuse collection bags.
Speaking on Radio Active on Thursday, Animal Party Cyprus president Kyriakos Kyriakou said that it was essential to send a strong message to the municipality that citizens had a democratic right to take their pets to public areas.
He said it was unfair that a total ban should be imposed at the Molos just because of a few irresponsible owners.
