Cypriot second division suspended over match fixing allegations

April 10, 2019 at 12:31pm

The Cyprus Football Association (KOP) suspended football fixtures in the Cypriot second division to decide on measures against match fixing.

KOP said in an announcement that it has received a large number of reports from UEFA flagging games in Cyprus’ second-tier league as fixed.

The Association said measures will be put in place in coordination with UEFA before any decision is made to resume the league.

In its next meeting, the Association said it will decide on structural changes for the division starting from next season.
