The Consumer Protection Service is carrying out a safety campaign in the run-up to Easter focusing on children’s toys.
The campaign, which started on Wednesday and will continue until April 19, will cover more than 80 retail toy outlets to locate toys which are non-compliant.
The checks will also cover toys sold with Easter candles and Easter eggs.
Moreover, the service said it will continue to raise public awareness about health and safety regarding toys, candles and Easter eggs. A leaflet has been posted on its website (www.consumer.gov.cy).
Also posted on the site is an information leaflet regarding the dangers to children aged under three from small objects.
