A 26 year old man from Paphos is under arrest on suspicion of involvement in five burglaries at hotel rooms in Paphos, from where a total of €2700 was stolen, two other thefts and possessing stolen property.

His arrest follows a complaint lodged by Belgian tourists who said that €900 had been stolen from their hotel room safe.

Police found no sign of forced entry, either of the door or balcony door or the safe itself. Suspicions turned to hotel staff and the 26 year old, who is among the hotel’s technical staff, was arrested. The money and other items believed to be the result of burglaries were found in his house.
