Ward first up for Baghdatis at Wimbledon

Cypriot tennis star Marcos Baghdatis is set to get his Wimbledon campaign underway on Tuesday with a first round tie against Briton James Ward.

Ward’s best performance in Wimbledon to date was reaching the third round in 2015 while Baghdatis was a semi-finalist in 2006

It is Baghdatis’ twelfth appearance at Wimbledon and is hoping to score his 20th win at the tournament.

Baghdatis has only played against Tuesday’s opponent once before, in 2009, when he beat Ward at the London Queen’s Club

If Baghdatis wins against Ward he will face 13 seed Grigor Dimitrov from Bulgaria or Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman.
