The unemployment rate for June 2017 in Cyprus has receded to its lowest level since May 2012 according to the data released on Monday by Eurostat.
In June 2017, the unemployment rate dropped to 10.8% from 12.9% in the same month of the previous year.
Youth unemployment (those aged below 25 years) persists at high levels, reaching 20.3%.
The highest unemployment rate in the EU and Eurozone is in Greece (21.7% in April 2017) and Spainn (17.1%)
The EU average unemployment rate remained stable at 7.7% while in the Eurozone it dropped marginally to 9.1% from 9.2% in the previous month.
Among EU member-states, the lowest unemployment was recorded in the Czech Republic (2.9%), Germany (3.8%) and Malta (4.1%).
