Two men escape death after car plunges off cliff

A 25-year-old passenger was seriously injured, while the driver was relatively unscathed after their car veered off a 50-metre cliff on the Arsos-Trozenas road in the Limassol district at 4.30 am on Monday morning.

The car driven by a 31-year-old, under circumstances being investigated, left the road and plunged down the cliff trapping both the driver and his 25-year-old passenger in the wreckage and required the assistance of the fire services to free them.

Both men were taken to the Limassol General Hospital where the 31-year-old was released after being administered first aid.

The 25-year-old was admitted for treatment to fractured ribs and injuries to his lungs. Doctors have described his condition as serious but out of danger.

Police in Pachna are continuing their investigation.
