Two Cyprus beaches amongst the world’s best

Fig Tree Bay and Konnos beach in the Famagusta district have been recognised as two of the top 25 beaches in the world, sharing the accolade with Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, Baia do Sancho in Brazil as well as beaches in Aruba, Cuba and the Caymans amongst others.

The awards were announced by Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel site with over 435 million unbiased traveller reviews.

Fig Tree Bay in Protaras has received two awards, placed 4th in Europe and 19th worldwide with 3,000 visits to the Trip Advisor website and scoring an impressive 4.75 point from a possible 5.

Konnos beach in Ayia Napa with 1,000 visits has a rating of 4.5 and like Fig Tree Bay is rated as excellent.

The Famagusta Tourist Trade Industrial Company has welcomed the announcement which is a result of the Ayia Napa and Paralimni Municipalities successful attempts at ensuring the beaches in the district are of a high standard with regards to cleanliness and services.
