The Turkish Foreign Ministry has accused Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias of putting forward positions which were intransigent and non-constructive and which “dominated the Greek and Greek Cypriot sides’ positions”.
Huseyin Muftuoglu, a Turkish Foreign office representative issued a statement with the above comments as an answer to a tweet posted by the Greek FM. He said that by reading the tweet one can comprehend why the Conference on Cyprus collapsed.
According to the Turkish FM’s announcement, the Turkish side “attended the conference with a constructive approach, in order to reach a fair, viable and comprehensive solution”.

“As to why the conference has collapsed, one can understand the reasons by the expressions used by the Greek FM in a tweet posted yesterday (Friday)”, said Muftuoglu.
Muftuoglu also said that “Kotzias seems to have forgotten that is was his’ behaviour to blame for the fact that the Conference in January did not last for more than a day”.
He said that Kotzias and the GC side displayed the same non-constructive approaches at the Conference at Crans Montana.
The Greek Foreign Ministry later on Saturday replied to the Turkish FM’s announcement.
