The Nicosia District Court on Tuesday remanded him in custody for eight days.

The car chase took place on Monday evening and saw the suspects refusing to stop their vehicle when asked to by the police, even after warning shots were fired in the air.
They then jumped out of the still moving vehicle which went on to crash into an electricity pole. The two men ran off with officers able to catch up with only one.
Subsequent searches uncovered a total of three kilos of cannabis in and just outside of suspect’s car, along with €750 in cash. The police believe the quantity found outside the car was dropped as the suspects fled their vehicle.
The authorities believe the two had been transporting the drugs from Nicosia to Paphos to sell.
