Leading lights on the Cyprus theatre scene, THOC is touring around the island over the following three months, with the black comedy “The Coleman Family’s Omission” (La Omissión de La Familia Coleman) by Argentine playwright Claudio Tolcachir.
What: The Coleman Family’s Omission
When: Every Wednesday and Thursday at 8.30pm, until February 16
Where: THOC Warehouse, Kampou 29, Strovolos, Nicosia.
Directed by Maria Kyriakou, the play follows the lives of an eccentric, non-traditional family living on the verge of bankruptcy in Buenos Aires. The family co-exist together in one house, attempting to build personal spaces within shared spaces and coming across challenges which are increasingly complex to reconcile.
A smash hit in Buenos Aires’ independent theatre scene, the play is performed using the typical ‘Grotesco Criollo’ style popular in Argentina. This particular style of drama originated in Italy, and can be likened to absurd theatre.
The performance will be in Greek with English and Turkish subtitles, and the tour will start at THOC Warehouse, with performances every Wednesday and Thursday at 8.30pm, until February 16. Tickets cost €12 / €6 and for more information call 77772717.
