Syrian refugees in 10m boat come ashore at Pomos

The Cyprus authorities were on alert Friday afternoon, providing assistance to some 85 Syrian refugees who arrived at the shores of Pomos, Paphos in a 10m vessel.

According to the information at hand, 65 of the people on the boat are men, nine are women and 11 are children. The boat is believed to have set sail from Turkey.

As well as being provided with humanitarian assistance, the group will be interviewed by the police to confirm their origin and how they came to travel to Cyprus.
