Swimmer missing after belongings found abandoned

Police in Paphos have launched a search for a 34-year-old foreign national believed missing after going for a swim off the remote Pomos area on Monday morning.

According to police, they were alerted to the scene at 11 am on Monday morning after being informed about abandoned personal belongings on the beach.

Police who arrived on the beach found the man’s passport amongst the personal items and following subsequent investigations it was determined that he had travelled to Polis Chrysochous from another village in the Paphos district.

Police and marine police are currently patrolling the sea off Pomos in an effort to find the missing man.
