A man has been arrested after police chased the stolen car he was driving through Nicosia in the early hours of this morning.
According to police, the stolen car was spotted on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway at around 1.45am prompting patrol cars to be dispatched to the area. When the vehicle – which had been previously reported stolen – was spotted in Tseri, the driver sped off prompting a high-speed chase through Nicosia.

When the car arrived in Agios Dometios, several police vehicles blocked off a road prompting the driver to slam into several parked cars and a patrol car. The man was then surrounded and placed under arrest.
Police say a 46-year-old man is in police custody on charges relating to being in possession of stolen property, evading arrest as well as dangerous and reckless driving.
He is expected to appear before a Nicosia magistrate on Wednesday.
