Stone church of Saint Lazarus

The stone church of Saint Lazarus is situated in its own square in the heart of Larnaca and is one of the most impressive examples of Byzantine architecture in Cyprus.

Built in the 9th century, the structure lies over the tomb of Larnaca’s Patron Saint. The Byzantine Museum is housed in the church grounds and exhibits an array of important religious icons, artefacts and relics.
