State doctors in Cyprus to stage work stoppage on Wednesday

State doctors will stage a three hour work stoppage on Wednesday from 12:00 in protest against Health Minister George Pamboridis’ “disrespect” towards them.

This is what their announcement said, adding that the Minister had demanded that union representatives leave a meeting at the Health Ministry that concerned labour issues of PASIKY members.

“We consider the stand by the honourary Minister of Health who argued that that the meeting was a ministerial does not justify his action,” PASIKY also said.

“The specific action is interpreted by the union as the culmination of a series of actions by the Minister that show nothing but lack of respect towards public hospital doctors and nursing staff,” they added.
