Sin City: A Dame To Kill For **1/2

When it opened back in April 2005, Sin City was a critical and global box office success. Breaking new ground, the movie was filmed entirely on green screen and brought Miller’s black and white graphic novels to life. Rife with strong women, flawed heroes, and vile villains, fans immediately asked for a sequel. Well, it took nine years, but it’s finally here!
Was it worth the wait? If you liked the first, you’ll probably like this, but overall.. it’s too little, too late. Yes, it’s a stunner visually, and the cast are clearly having a great time – particularly femme fatale Eva Green – but this is a plodding, grim affair that is both fragmented and frequently dull. It has moments, but it’s mostly a good concept in search of a decent script.

Starring: Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke
Director: Robert Rodriguez
