Search for Nicos Siafkalis resumes

The search for Nicos Siafkalis – who went missing whilst fishing off the northwest coast of Cyprus on Sunday – resumed on Monday morning.

The veteran actor and director had been reported missing after going out fishing on Sunday morning.

According to police reports, Siafkalis went fishing between Latsi and the Baths of Aphrodite area near Polis Chrysochous in Paphos at around 7am on Sunday morning.

The 83-year-old’s car has been located with police finding his mobile telephone, a diving suit and spearfishing gear inside the vehicle.

The Cyprus Port & Marine Police, the Civil Defence as well as friends and family are searching both inland along the coast and the sea for any sign of Siafkalis.

The search was temporarily suspended on Sunday evening.
