Scorching temperatures set to continue

Weather officials are predicting another sizzling week for Cyprus with inland temperatures set to hit as high as 41°C on Tuesday.

According to the Meteorological Services, temperatures on Tuesday will reach 38°C on the east and south coasts, 35°C on the west and north and 30°C in the mountains. It will be slightly cooler on Wednesday with a one degree drop in inland temperatures “which will remain at around 39°C -40°C on Thursday, Friday and Saturday”, commented weather official Panayiotis Lingis.

Speaking to The Cyprus Weekly, he added that current temperatures “were not unusual for this time of year in Cyprus” and that “we’re almost at the end of June when it’s certainly not out of the ordinary to reach 40°C.”
