Retirees union protests Co-op closure of 90 branches

The Cyprus Retirees Union (EKYSY) expressed its disagreement with the Cyprus Cooperative Bank’s (CCB) decision to close 90 branches in rural and remote areas.

EKYSY called on the government -which is the main shareholder of the CCB- to review its decision to close the branches which, says the union, will inconvenience thousands of rural area residents, and especially the elderly.

“Our elderly, who founded and supported the Coop movement, do not deserve this kind of behavior from today’s Cooperative leadership and the government”, said EKYSY.
