What is most important in a restaurant are the fresh ingredients, the well cooked food and the successful combination of flavours. That is what I was thinking on my way to Limassol to try the new Prime Grill. The menu, drawn up by chef Nicos Constantinou, is balanced with Greek, Cypriot and other Mediterranean tastes. Of the appetizers, we tried tasty bruschetta with sun dried tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella, superb Portobello mushrooms with parsley sauce and a divinely boiled, soft halloumi from Avdimou. We also tucked into a salad with rocket, goat cheese, forest fruit, caramelized macadamia and balsamic vinaigrette, while the remaining salads had an interesting twist. Among the mains, there are grilled dishes, from marinated chicken, to sea bass and pork chops to kebabs and sheftalies and of course steak. It’s also worth trying the burger. The mince is excellent, since it is ground on the spot. The rest of the menu includes pasta, platters and signature dishes such as the stuffed chicken breast with halloumi, mint, sun dried tomatoes and red peppers sauce and the hit – the traditional German roast which melts in the mouth and is accompanied with mustard and sauerkraut. Leave space for the desert. The semi-freddo with yoghurt and forest fruit, the chocolate cheesecake and the handmade, filled chocolate will give an ideal end to a great night at the Prime Grill.
