President, senior officials and MPs 2016 assets revealed

Last year’s declaration of assets for President Nicos Anastasiades, his cabinet and other senior government officials were made public on Monday on parliament’s official website.

According to the figures, President Anastasiades maintains assets of €178,933 out of which €66,000 is in property, €6.138 in deposits while around €100,000 is in shares and two cars – an €85,000 Audio A8 and a Mercedes valued at €15,000.

With regards to gross income in 2015, the President of the Republic earned a salary of €163,165, €16.822 in earnings from social insurance, €17.366 from the Advocates Pension Fund and around €6,000 from rent earnings.

Also in 2015, President Anastasiades earned €48.345 in pensions due to his time in the past in parliament and – following tax cuts and other levies – was left with €24.497 from Τhe Independent Social Support Body.

In his declaration, the President also stated that as of 2013, all of his shares – both privately and publically – had been passed over to his daughters.

Meanwhile, President Anastasiades also owns sections of 12 plots all within the district of Limassol but which were not declared as they were gifts or passed down to him from relatives.

With regards to House Speaker Demetris Syllouyris, apart from his annual parliamentary earnings of €185,114, he also owns properties valued at €300,000, deposits of over €166,000 and a car valued at €15,000.
