Police have confirmed that a Russian tourist has died after her lifeless body was pulled out of the sea in Ayia Napa.
Police in Ayia Napa say the 64-year-old Russia woman had seemingly drowned whilst out swimming in the waters of Nissi Beach.
The call had come in at 6pm that an unconscious woman was being rushed to a private clinic by ambulance. By 7pm, doctors had confirmed that the woman had died.
The tourist, whose death will most likely be attributed to drowning according to police sources, had arrived on the island on May 14 and was set to depart on May 28.
An autopsy will take place at Larnaca General Hospital later on Thursday to determine the exact cause of death.
