Pensioner killed in Limassol traffic incident

Limassol police say they are looking into a traffic incident which left an 83-year-old pensioner dead on Tuesday.

According to reports, the man was run over and killed as he was attempting to cross Alexandrias Street.

The accident occurred just after 8am on Tuesday when a car driven by a 43-year-old man drove into the pedestrian. The elderly man was rushed to Limassol General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries just after 1pm.

Many of city’s government services are situated in the area where the accident occurred, making it particularly busy.
