A non-Cypriot permanent resident of Paphos has been fined €17,000 for illegally transporting a large amount of tax-free tobacco products across the Green Line.
The some 21,200 cigarettes and over 34kg of tobacco were also confiscated from the man’s car.
Investigating, the police determined they had not been properly taxed and had also been brought into the south from the north in violation of relevant regulations.
