Paphos police probe early hours fires

Police in Paphos had a busy start to the week after a car and motorcycle burst into flames in two incidents.

According to the police, the car was in the parking area of a block of flats on Miltiadous St. Residents of the area became aware that the vehicle was on fire at around 3.30am.

Investigations indicate the flames were the result of an explosive device, which also caused damage to the building.

Just minutes later a motorcycle parked in Propylaion St. in Paphos was set alight. The flames spread and damaged a car also belonging to the owner of the motorcycle.

Police will on Monday continue their investigations into the two incidents including into whether they may be linked.
