A pensioner from Pomos village is fighting for life after falling off a ladder whilst cutting grapes in his vineyard.
Police say Spyros Charalambous, 72, was on a ladder cutting grapes from his vineyard in the village of Pomos when he reportedly lost his balance and fell to the ground – hitting his head.

He was taken by relatives to the local hospital in Polis-Chrysochous and then rushed by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital.
Due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was again transferred – this time to Nicosia General Hospital where he under observation in intensive care.
Doctors have described his condition as critical.
