The mayor of Paphos, Phedonas Phedonos, met on Tuesday with the Chief of the Police Force, Zacharias Chrysostomou, to discuss increasing police presence in Paphos ahead of an expectedly loaded tourist season.
The focus of the discussion were policing issues ahead of the summer tourist season. Phedonos argued that police measures should increase given the indications that more than 1.2 million tourists arriving in Paphos.
“At the same time, an increase in policing measures for the smooth operation of the town is necessary due to the plethora of events which take place on a daily basis in Paphos within the framework of the European Capital of Culture programme”, said Phedonos.
Phedonos added that it was agreed that “cooperation will be constant and to the benefit and well-being of the citizens and tourists in Paphos.”
