Christodoulou favourite for vacant Omonia job

Days have gone by and Omonia is still in the search of a new coach for their team, with Pambos Christodoulou said to be the favorite to lead the Nicosia team.

“We hope during the break to have a new coach” has been said by several Omonia officials, with this week expected to be crucial for the task of finding a new head for the team.

On the other hand, yesterday Andreas Demetriou said that they are not putting down a deadline for a new coach, leaving all possibilities open.

Beyond a new coach, Omonia is in search of a technical manager and a scouting team.

The favorite to become the team’s new coach is said to be Pambos Christodoulou. There is also the opinion that a coach should come from a more competitive European league to bring his know-how, yet the option of the Cypriot coach remains a favorite.

This is so because Christodoulou has already shown what he is capable of in the Cyprus league, but is also in touch with Cypriot reality, whereas any foreign coach would need time to adjust, and might test the fans’ patience.
