Cypriot first division newcomers Pafos FC have moved swiftly to try and solve their defensive short-comings after snapping up Chilean defender Lucas Dominguez.
Dominguez, 27, was recently released by Union Espanyola and was seen as a perfect fit by boss Luka Elsner.
Despite much optimism in preseason, Pafos FC’s debut in the top division – since re-emerging as a new club following the merger of Evagoras and APOP into AEP and then the liquidation of AEP – ended in a 3-0 defeat at Ethnikos Achnas.

One of the glaring problems in that game was the defensive woes of the Pafos club.
Dominguez’s former clubs include Colo Colo , CD Everton, Ponferradina and Audax Italiano all in Chile while he has also been capped six times by his country.
Pafos next take on fellow newcomers Alki Oroklini this coming weekend.
