No immediate comment on report Johnson could resign

Britain’s Foreign Office had no immediate comment on a report by the Telegraph newspaper on Tuesday that foreign minister Boris Johnson may resign before the weekend if his Brexit demands are not met by Prime Minister Theresa May.

May is due to make a speech on Brexit on Friday and the newspaper said close friends of Johnson believe he will have no choice but to walk way if she advocates permanently paying for access to the EU’s single market.

The Telegraph also reported that Johnson, stopped by reporters while out for a run in New York where he is attending the U.N. General Assembly, said he was not going to resign. (Reuters)
