There was an increase of 14.3% in Cypriots travelling abroad during first eight months of the year reaching 953,038.
In August alone there was a 5% rise in Cypriots going on holiday with 169,240 foreign trips.
It seems that Cypriots are beginning to prefer alternative destinations other than Greece with August seeing a 13.2% drop in trips to Greece from 86,191 last year to 74,851.
But over the first eight months (January-August) trips to Greece from Cyprus were slightly up to 369,225 from 351,878 last year.
Trips to the UK were on the up in August rising 16% to 19,571.
A significant increase was recorded in trips to Russia, with an increase of 47.2% to 8,636, while travel to Romania spiked 31.3% to 7.259.
Finally, for August there was a 44.5% hike recorded travel to the US at 3,775 and 23.3% climb in trips to Asia (12,330).
