Motorists are being advised to ensure that they have settled their road tax payments before the final deadline on Thursday.
The September 8 deadline was given by the Road Transport Department (RTD) back in July in a bid to help car owners that were struggling financially.
But the grace period is set to end on Thursday and the RTD has warned that fines will begin to be issued as of Friday (September 9) for all those who have yet to settle or renew their road tax dues.
According to the same law, renewals made after 8 September will carry a penalty of €10 plus 10% of the total amount due. In order to renew/pay road tax, a relevant MOT certificate and Insurance policy is required.
The road tax can be paid through the following channels:
a) Via the RTD’s official website
b) At any Co-op bank
c) At any commercial banks
d) At the Citizens Advise Bureau
e) At the district offices of the RTD
f) At the district offices of the Cyprus Post
