Motorcyclist killed in Geroskipou crash

Police say a 25-year-old man from Paphos has died after being involved in a motorbike accident in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The victim has been identified by Paphos Traffic Police as being 25-year-old Demetris Alex Manternach – who owns a motorcycle repair shop in the area.

The incident occurred at around 12.15am when the motorbike he was riding on Eratous Avenue in Geroskipou collided with the guard rail in the middle of the road and ended up in the middle of the roundabout.

The rider was seriously injured and rushed to Paphos General Hospital where doctors began treating him for his serious injuries and internal bleeding

Manternach went into surgery at 3.15am but later succumbed to his injuries.

Traffic police are still investigating.
