Limassol port to be connected with motorway

On Thursday construction work begins on a road connecting the Limassol port to the Limassol-Paphos motorway.

The project is expected to last 24 months until its completion.

According to an announcement by the Transport Ministry, at this stage construction will take place on the northern section of the project, between the Omonia Avenue and Ladies Mile roundabouts and to the east of the Omonia roundabout.

“The Road Works Department apologises for the unavoidable discomfort that will be caused, and calls on the public to show the necessary understanding and patience, along with compliance to the temporary road signs,” said the Transport Ministry.

More road works

In the same announcement it says that also on Thursday between 07:30 and 16:00 road works will take place on the old Nicosia-Limassol road due to telecom cable works.

During the cable works, the road will be partially closed, allowing for traffic to pass in alternate directions only through a single lane, over a total distance of 1.7 kilometres.
